Hope this helps someone out, if this is a basic protip that everyone knows about already let me know I will delete itĮdit: Also, if you start using this tip and find yourself switching Aero on/off often there is a smooth and easy way of doing it by using a batch file to switch Aero on/off. I disabled Aero, then lo and behold, WoW fps went to 110ish, it was actually causing a lot of tearing because of the uneven fps rate but I fixed it by limiting my fps to 90 max in advanced settings.(If your machine can't guarantee 90+ fps in WoW at all times I think it would be better to enable in-game Vsync as tearing is unacceptable in VR and 60 fps still looks and feels good). Then I remembered that windows aero interface applies some kind of vertical sync to games played in windowed mode and I thought maybe that's what's acting up here. I thought that it was hardware limited but it was suspicious for me that it was very stable 30 fps, almost like it's synced for purpose to half my monitor's refreshed rate.
It worked but the FPS was capped at around 30 fps. I tried out WoW on virtual desktop in VR on full screen windowed mode. Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but posting just in case. Will try to keep this as brief as possible.
